The engine doesn't have enough oil - add oil

Float Sticking in carburetor bowl - clean carburetor bowl (refer to engine manual)
Fuel shutoff valve in "Off" position-turn to "On" position
Faulty spark plug - replace spark plug

What type of extension cords do I need to use?
Use a 12 gauge extension cord up to 100 ft. on a 0 to 20 amp draw.
Use a 10 gauge extension cord up to 100 ft. on a 20 to 30 amp draw.

Will the engine idle down when no load is being pulled from the generator?
Only generators equipped with the idle control feature will idle down when no load is being pulled. (See Parts Manual supplied with your unit). All other generators are factory set at 3600 rpm to produce the correct frequency at the rated output voltage.

Can I put an electric start on my generator?
Electric start options are available only on certain models. Refer to a generator sales brochure.

What type of battery do I use on my electric start generator?
Use a standard 12 volt 45 amp hour or 210 cold cranking amp lawn mower battery.

How loud is my generator? Is there anything I can buy to make it quieter?
Approximately 90 decibels. Check with your nearest engine dealer/service center.

Can I operate my generator outside?
Yes. Operate generator in clean, dry, well ventilated area. Never operate unit in enclosed areas such as garages, basements, storage sheds, or in any location occupied by humans or animals. Keep children, pets and others away from area of operating unit.

Do I need to ground my generator? If so, how do I?
A grounding lug is supplied with the generator for use when required by local electrical ordinances. Refer to article 250 of the National Electrical Code to clarify any needed grounding information. Your local electric company or a certified electrician should be able to help you with this information.
